There is a 26 year old man named Mario Brisson, who runs a YouTube channel called “The Vigilant Christian” who is a false teacher straight down to the core. He teaches the doctrine of “Lordship Salvation” which teaches that in order to be saved, you must completely stop sinning and continue in a perfect Godly lifestyle. He relies on many false prophets, including Paul Washer, David Paul Wilkerson, etc. to further his claims.
There is a video on his channel called “Shocking Youth Message – Paul Washer – The Gate is Narrow & Few Find It!” Mario makes a statement in his video which he says “We need to recognize that the way to God is very narrow. The Bible actually says that there are few that find it. And many will say on that day ‘Lord, Lord,’ but He’s going to look at them and say ‘I never knew you!’ We need to make sure that we are striving for holiness and Godliness. This is a fruit of being justified by faith alone in Jesus Christ.”
Do you see how contradictory this statement is? Faith alone vs. fruits being needed? You can put the entire quote together to conclude that Mario completely supports “Lordship Salvation.” In this quote, he is trying the use the “I never knew you” from Matthew 7:23. Notice though, how Mario left out Matthew 7:22 will say to Jesus that they did “many wonderful works” in Jesus name. That verse is talking about people like Mario who trust their works rather than faith in Jesus Christ alone.
The Bible teaches that all you need to do to be saved is realize that you are a lost sinner, and believe on The Lord Jesus Christ who died for your sins and rose from the dead. If you put your faith in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection to save you from hell, then you are saved. Salvation is simple. Mario clearly teaches the opposite.
Ephesians 2:8-9- For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST.
That is exactly what these Lordship Salvation believers do, is boast. They try to make salvation hard, so that they can try to WORK for the false idea of a “hard earned salvation” and then they brag about it. I know I did when I believed in Lordship Salvation. The first man who acted like this, was Cain. He brought his fruits before the Lord with the attitude of “Lord look what I did for you.” God would not accept it, because it was a work which he boasted about. Mario Brisson, and the rest of the Lordship Salvation believers are all Cains.
In the name of The Lord Jesus Christ I write unto you. Amen.
